Enrolment Process

Thank you for considering Arkana College for your child’s education.

We welcome students from Kindergarten to Year 6 and are committed to making your enrolment process clear and supportive.

Admission Criteria

nOur admission process is always fair to all applicants. However, due to the limited number of places available each year, siblings are given first preference in most cases. All other applicants, upon registering, will be placed on an expression of interest list and will be informed as a place becomes available.

Enrolment Process

 

Arkana College is a comprehensive Islamic co-educational primary school catering for students from Kindergarten to Year 6. The College provides a high-quality education grounded in Islamic values and operates in accordance with the registration requirements of the NSW Education Standards Authority (NESA).

Applicants and their families are expected to support the College’s Islamic values and Sunni faith tradition, and to successfully complete the College’s enrolment interview and school readiness processes.

Upon enrolment, students are expected to conduct themselves in a manner that reflects the College’s ethos and to comply with all College policies and procedures as a condition of ongoing enrolment. Parents and carers are likewise expected to actively support and uphold the College’s ethos, policies, and procedures.

 

Procedures
  1. All applications are processed within the school’s enrolment policy.
  2. We consider each applicant’s interview responses regarding their ability and willingness to support the school’s policies, procedures and ethos.
  3. We evaluate each child’s educational needs. 
  4. Identify any strategies which need to be put into place to accommodate the needs of an appilcant.
  5. Inform the applicant of the outcome.
  6. Enrolment information will be sent out. Students enrolling must turn 5 before the 30 June the year they are due to start school.
  7. Enrolment will comply with the Disability Discrimination Act.
